Why We Built This

Concentration is hard. Sleep is harder. Background chatter, open offices, restless nights — most of us deal with some version of these every day. We built Calm Mixer because we needed it ourselves.

The idea is simple: give people a beautiful, distraction-free mixer of ambient sounds they can tune to exactly what their brain needs in the moment — no account, no login, no subscription, no ads chasing you around. No download required — it runs entirely in the browser.

Everything runs in your browser. Your mix settings are saved locally on your device. Nothing is ever uploaded to a server.

How Calm Mixer Works

Calm Mixer gives you 8 independently controllable ambient sound channels — rain, thunder, ocean, wind, fire, birds, flowing water, and night crickets. Adjust each channel's volume with a fader, set the master level, and press play.

Your custom mix is saved automatically in your browser's local storage, so the next time you open the app it picks up right where you left off.

Your mixer settings (channel volumes, master level, chosen colour theme) are saved exclusively in your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device.

Third-Party Services

Calm Mixer loads fonts from Google Fonts. Google may log the font request (your IP and browser version) in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy. No other third-party scripts, analytics, or advertising networks are included.

Cookies

Calm Mixer does not set any cookies. Settings are stored in browser localStorage only.

Children's Privacy

Calm Mixer is a general-purpose tool suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

After your first visit, Calm Mixer is cached as a Progressive Web App and will work without an internet connection.

Will my mix be saved?

Yes. Your channel volumes, master level, and chosen theme are automatically saved in your browser's local storage and restored on your next visit.

Can I use Calm Mixer on my phone?

Absolutely. The interface is fully responsive and works on iOS and Android browsers. You can also add it to your home screen as a PWA.

Why did the sound stop?

Most browsers require a user gesture (a tap or click) before playing audio. Press the play button to start your mix. On iOS, make sure your device is not on silent mode.
